Jayamohan quits ‘Angadi Theru’

Writer Jayamohan has opted out of Vasantha Balan’s forthcoming ‘Angadi Theru’ following the controversy over his remarks on the legendary actors MGR and Sivaji Ganesan. The South Indian Actors’ Association recently passed resolutions condemning the writer and ‘Ananda Vikatan’ magazine that re-published the article.

The resolutions demanded apologies from the concerned persons for the “abusive” remarks on the iconic figures of Tamil cinema. Resolution condemning Jayamohan warned that he would be removed from the films – ‘Angadi Theru’ and ‘Naan Kadavul’ - he is currently working on, if he doesn’t apologies.

Another resolution warned ‘Ananda Vikatan’ that the filmy associations in Tamil Nadu would not cooperate for its production ‘Siva Manasula Sakthi’, which was launched recently.

While the magazine has expressed its regrets, the writer has yet to come out with any regrets or apology. Instead, he has opted out from Vasantha Balan’s project, in which he has written the dialogues. It is leant from reliable sources that the director has requested him to stay away from his film, which is gearing up for release.

The fate of his role in Bala’s ‘Naan Kadavul’, in which he has penned the dialogues, is yet to be known.
